Technically, loss of virginity was always presumed to be the breaking of the hymen in a woman, which left lots of room for other activity.

For practical purposes, it usually means first sexual intercourse with partner of opposite sex. These days it could be amended somewhat in that a gay person may never engage in heterosexual conduct but still have a full sex life.

In the stone ages prior to the liberation of the 1960s, I was 17.

Catherina...strange topic but not a bad one....you say though sex and talking about sex is a taboo in your country....you are from Jakarta yeh???like that isn't a error on your profile???sorry the reason I ask is that I know a few people from Indonesia mostly Jakarta but a few from around other parts and they don't do anything but talk about sex and having sex so I'm kind of confused when you say its a taboo but yet my friends talk about it as much as Irish people would and a lot of Irish people are drink and sex mad:lol::lol::shh:

AWw thats good and cute. Yeh sex when your with someone for awhile is really good like it brings you closer together.
And thats good that you've been together for a long time :D
I know before my present bf i had been in bad situations guys and sex just arghh lol.. defienitly aint a holy thing in my country. Also one the main reasons i support abstaince, well specially until its time you know when it is, i mainly want to wait til im legal as not to get my bf in trouble. but i do advise not to have it so young and not under the influence of drink, drugs or peer pressure! Make sure your ok with it!
I dont see why anyone should be disgusted with sex as it is indeed a part of life.. although you never know they could like girls and not boys!
Haha i know in hong kong my cousins were all mad about sex wanting to know my stories and them telling me theres its funny!

And yes in this generation and age, none hetrosexuals have great sex lives too thats why i was just wondering is it still referred to as loosing your virginity between them.
Although maybe it is just the hetrosexuals who claim that virginity is the sexual intercourse between a man and a women..:dunno:

Funny--broken by a horse--that's what my first wife said. And there was no reason for her to be cute about it, she never hid anything from her past. Wow.. all you younging having sex when your like 12 lol just kidding.. i know in this day and age everyone experiences different situations. So now i shall share mine.. well i will admit that i was 17 when i lost mine and it was with my boyfriend at the time.. i cant say i regret it.. however we're not together anymore. there was a fairly interesting age gap between us.. he was a couple years younger and .. well .. not all that bright.. but a very nice guy:)
