Not a very expensive on, but good quality.
Love to Love

I'm using a Canon EOS 10D + 50mm f/1.8 I bought it second hand. and it's much professional new and cheap Canon EOS 350D or 400D's is less amateur then mine.

But what makes a pro picture?

Thanks Joseph, i love your answer! that made my day!
i take pictures with a rickety box too.... :D:D

10d 6MP 3fps and is just bigger than 350d and 400d, take note that 350d is 8 MP & takes at 3fps, while 400d i think is already 5fps 10 MP and also they accept efs & ef lenses. For me i'll go for 350d and 400d for canon cheaper body than nikons. Nikon? d80 but nikon body price a little bit higher.

Try Canon 400D+50mm F1.4 or Pentax K10D.

I guess what makes a semi-pro pictures is a semi-pro photographer and for a semi-pro photographer, i would suggest Nikon D200 as I myself is a Nikon user. For Canon, 30D would be the right choice.

Cheers.

Well you will be amazed how many Pro photographers are using D200 and 30D, specially in sports photography.

In sports EOS-1 Dmark II with L tele lenses

I guess when it goes to clients.. impression is a factor. And expensive gears would add to that. Nevertheless.. everything will still go back to the photog..

I recently purchased a used Canon EOS 20D, 8.2 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera with Canon 18-55mm Lens for 599.00. It works great.

Say cheese. LOL

That was before. 30d and 200d were made just recently...

search the site there maybe other replies to this very question

Cameras do not make the good pictures, they are simply extensions of the photographer.

The photographer is the artist, and just as a painter can have expensive brushes and paints, it is still the painter or photographer who has to create the work of art.

Think of the camera as a tool to do what you want. More expensive cameras give you more room to be creative, but if you don't know what you're doing, then an expensive camera is not going to help you make pro shots. There are many pictures out there, and many photographers ou there who have been shooting for some time and their pictures are so so, and others who pick up a camera one day and pump out amazing photos.

This is an art -- so creation is in the hands of the maker :)

Cameras merely provide you with image quality, not aesthetic quality.

I could not agree more!
A good photographer can turn just about anything into magic.
Everything I've done, and all that I have yet to do, is only to forget the meaning of your name.

camera have to be comfortable for You, this is only a tool... best I think is start with something simple, digital or film camera, when You learnt how to creative use this tool, You should know, what more You need from Your new camera (MP, fps, light mettering, etc.)... if You get too complicated camera, You can never go out from auto presets :)

sony alpha was declared best camera 2006 by popular photograhy while pentax k10d by tipas. check it out

There's semi-pro best and then there's the best. At 4200 dollars plus, for all around camera, here's the best:

This is a camera I don't have--yet: The Canon EOS 1D Mark III.
