Oh Rebec (Renaissance fiddle),
Say Good bye to Rallentando:shh:
Is that at highest soprano "G" range for you, Megan?...
Thanks to your inspiration:)
I have improved to 16 seconds maximum opera level:thumbup::thumbup::D
Looks like you & I will be considered long-winded & rhythmical roaming range singers--

BTW{>
When I was timed before, I was just recouping from laryngitis.
Haven't thought about re-timing 'til now.

Swing it OR SING IT>>
'Hair' TODAY, (Cy) ;) .:. NET=---> Tomorrow! :lol::lips:

Oh god around 10 seconds maybe at a push! I must give up smoking lol!

Wow Megan! you wear Jewellery like my stuff YAY! Go check my website n tell me what you think?

Sorry for that deviation to the musical theme! I love singing around the house, much to my sons annoyance, but I could hold a note better a few years back, perhaps more practise is the answer?

MIKE!

Realistically, 2.75 notes. Not in the middle of a song, just out of the blue, I can still do the full 4/4ths. Catholic school education! Can't beat it! I had to hold down soprano in 7th grade. I choir at a baritone but doing solos, I'm told I sound like an Irish tenor.

Now...Chante Moore. I was part of a company that brought her to the islands on tour a few years ago. After intermission, she quietly walked out on stage, sat on a stool, took a breath, a hit a high note. I can't remember which note now. But she kept going. At one point I said "Holy S-word", loosed my camera and looked at my watch. I do not know how much time passed before I started timing, but she did 26 seconds after that. I didn't believe it was humanly possible and she is a tiny little thing...maybe 5'2".

I'm told it is her trademark...she sits and does that immediately after every intermission...sustains a high note for 60 solid seconds. I'm told Diana Ross had that ability. It was something I would never have believed had I not seen it.

Cool input Karl I love to hear your forums! you sound just like me! I say so much and refer to so many experiences, people say you must be 200 years old lol! Well , nearly maybe!

It is quite amazing when you hear such a voice coming from such a small frame though I agree! My mom was 4ft11 and she sang around the house from danny boy to deep South Blues! such a range! and she taught piano from home too, so I grew up with music and differing tastes and styles all around me!

Insatiable curiosity, a drive to see it all, a willingness to experiment and try new things and an allergy to office cubicles. That's the recipe for an experienced life. My mom says I was itching and rearing to go before I could walk. Had my first major surgery before I was four using a couch as a trampoline and sucking on a three foot long aluminum rod. Fell of course, jamming that rod through the rook of my mouth and on into the back of my throat. Now, if that didn't quiet me down at three years of age, nothing will. Hmmm. Yeah...I feel 200 years old. Broken fingers, broken nose, broken leg, broken neck, broken back, steam-explosion melted chest, shot, stabbed, hernia, deadly spider bite...and ready for more! You know...I wonder if I would be able to sing if I hadn't dug a trench in my mouth?

Another star who could sustain a note...and at high decibels...almost a homie, from right next door - Puerto Rican...Johnnie Mathis. Talk about stage presence. You had to see this guy live and from the front row. His records do not do his voice justice. Fifty years earlier and he would have been one of the opera virtuosos. And he wasn't that big of a guy either.

And that my friend is why we can sing the blues lol!

Mike:)
JH should feel like captain of the song team, even if Karl's mention of Chante can sustain 26 sec. & outdo us all!:cantlook:
Chante (wherever you are, darlin') YOU GET :thumbup: WAY UP--to give those lungs credit for holding up!:lips::lips:

PS On the Disc side{>
I like the fact that KARL threw Diana Ross without the Supremes up in mid post!:cool::D

MIKE!

I'm also a swimmer so controlled breathing is that much easier to me. Also practiced very hard to learn how to sing 'it's the end of the world' without breathing during the verses.

About 4 whole notes. Working on five

Not very long at all. So short, I never even tested it. I'm actually more of a musician than singer.
