hey hey im only like 172 cm tall and I want to do run way but I dont think Im tall enough, am i right or not?

being short for runway isnt wut there usually looking fo (not saying ur short but still there are some fashions that look horable on tall ppl so it wouldnt matter but you mite still b growwing how old r u?

Very few Fashion Models under 5'8"...Most are 5'10" & taller.
Here's a composite list for QUICK Reference to the Big Classification Standard Height Questions:>

Petite Modelling:
* 5'0" to 5'6"
* size 0-1

Commercial Modelling:
Female:
* 5'6" to 5'11"
Male:
*5'9" to 6'2"

Plus Size Modelling:
* 5'8" to 6'2"
* size 10-18

[BEST FOR LAST;>]
Editorial / Fashion Modelling:
Female:
* 5'8" to 6'0"
* 90-120 lbs. {PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, WITH KINDNESS:>>>This is taken from a model's site=---> Not my idea****So get mad at sum1 else over the controversial set guidlines, I didn't make the rules! OK;)}
Male:
* 5'9" to 6'2"
* 120 lbs. to 170 lbs.
*****PLEASE NOTE:{> There are ALWAYS Exceptions to the rules, but in RARE cases.
I'm sure that with time or different authors, this will be revamped on the generic guidelines...You asked, this is what I found...Now hope it gives at least a tabletop general idea to what's the model market expectations.

I've been in the weight range for that given height my entire life. It does not always have to result to anorexia. -_^

Exactly, YES;)!!!-- to the comment! NO Anorexia, abolishing that "starvation sadness," would be IDEAL, just healthy petite boned people. I would imagine no one wants anyone sickly & suffering. I s'pose this is a derived based guideline used as the way that the conceptual designed clothing will frame the industry's idea of the model's body...They really just want LIVE Mannequins, what do you think?;)

I'm 5'6" and people want me to do modeling! I don't know if its because I'm on the tall side and super (naturally) skinny and weight a healthy 101 pounds, but I think 5'6" is a great height to start modeling.

There are so many different types of modeling available I do not see the point in making your body suffer for one kind.
To me, the best models are the ones who just are just themselves. If you want to be something your not, get into acting. -_^
I'm not a model, but I've had chances to be in the past as a hair model, and I said no. Friends of mine did and ended up with the most terrible hair styles and then had to wait several months before their hair was in good enough condition/length to do another shoot.
