Hello everyone!
I recieved a strange message from a man named Axe Man here, on my mailbox. He says he is not a modeling agency, not a photographer and not an advertising agency, so who's that?

Please, read it and tell me what you think? What he wants from me?..

Sorry for not getting back to you any earlier but I was travelling on business and only back today.

I am happy to hear that you are interested and as stated in my initial e-mail I think that you have a great potential to grow within the industry. I appears that you are quite serious about taking your modeling aspirations forward and also interested in Dubai. Modeling is a dream for many and dreams are meant to come true, so let me give you a bit of background about myself. Some clarity is always good on how would it be possible for me to help you out in the industry.

Well, I am not a photographer. I am not with a modeling agency. And I am not with a creative/advertising agency either!

I am sure by now you are asking how then are you capable of helping me out?

Well I am the guy who the photographer, modeling agency and advertising agency want to please "THE CLIENT".

You see I am the Marketing Director for a large multinational organization with a large range of international brands which require campaigns on TV, magazines, billboards, etc ... All of these 3rd party companies are my source for talent whenever a campaign needs to be put together. In simple terms, I am the one who takes the final decision on whether the model, the campaign, the design works for the brand/s or not. With all said and done, this does not mean that you will land the job 100% if I pass your information onto the different agencies here because I have to be true to the brand when making the decision on what serves the marketing idea/concept best. But what this does mean is that a recommendation from my side gives you a head start or a poll position against all the other models that would be competing against u.

Hope that this makes some sense to you.

In any case. I have received your add to yahoo messenger and hopefully we can chat a bit more about this sometime and see how we can take this forward. Am currently working on a project and if you are interested would need to see more of your portfolio, candidates should send in 15-20 photos to be evaluated against the other models. Will give you more details once we have a chance to talk.

Hmmm... the MD of a large multinational spends his time looking at modelling websites so he can pick his favourites. Doesn't really sound likely to me, but then I am a cynic :)

Alisa, well maybe he wanted to say not client but employer... anyway, usually these people do work with agency or always ask to find an agency because it is easier to work with you then...

Now i am getting agressive messages from him.

Yana, you mean he is a scout? So why he doesnt tell that he is?
As far as i can see he is not telling even the name of the company that he works in.

I wonder why he is writting me to the mailbox of profile of a Dancer, but not a Model?
And asking to send him 15-20 photos of me???? What for?

Alisa i would suggest steering well clear of this guy and forwarding a smaple of the agressive mails you have gotten to Rasa or one of the other site administrators to bring it to their attention.

if he's not a scout, i wouldn't trust in him. and if he simply likes to stare at pictures of young girls believe me he doesn't care if you're a model or a dancer:D

Alisa, I got a message from him too. I didn't bother replying, I thought it was too suspicious... what professional would name himself 'Axe Man'? :cantlook: I didn't report him because it didn't occur to me, and even if it had I wasn't sure if he was part of a scam or not.

Lesson learned, I'll take a leaf out of your book next time Alisa :)

I recieved the same messages as well from "Axe Man" or "Mazin" .. he gave me the same gmail account to send him photos and added me on msn. I felt this was very unperfessional and contacted a friend about it. He claimed to work at an internation company known as Unilver. My "friend" knows someone at the company who said they do not use gmail accounts at the company as they cannot access it from work due to firewall restrictions.

That was a full lie from him then, i was right.
I also got an offer to work in Italy in escort (which includes sex service) from Mat Lombardi, his ID 192217. He understands that i won't take his offer, so he is asking me if i am ready to live with him lol

I suppose that this is where the ugly topic of references raises its head again. (Ugly as in there is no ideal way to do those on a website)

The cynics amongst us don't take anything at face value on the internet, but there are those who might see a Scout profile (or a photographer one) and not think of double checking first. Some do look amateurish, but unless you have seen a lot even those may seem impressive.

How can you know who to trust? I mean if a scout or photographer asks for photos or even want to meet up with you, how can you make sure it is safe?
