Wentana Berkhout

I am half dutch half ethiopian. I grew up in South America in Peru and Mexico city and then spent a large part of my teenage and university years in Scotland. I have always wanted to be a model ever since the age of 13 when I took part in a fashion show for a huge charity event in Mexico. Since then I have been asked on the streets if I was modeling and I have always had to answer no. I decided to puruse this road in 2003 when I took a break from my studies and ventured to New York city for several months to discover what the industry was all about. Although I never got representation at the open calls I attended the experience only fuelled my desire to continue modeling. I managed to compile my first set of pictures for my portafolio and since I have returned to the UK where I am about to complete my degree in International Relations in June 2006 I have secured a three year contract with a modeling agency called Models Direct. I speak several languages such as Spanish, Amharic, french, and Italian and I love travelling and working in an environment that is filled with energy, requires stamina and always changing. I am very open and energetic enthusiastic and highly adaptable with excellent communication skills. I enjoy challenges and doing creative things. I am very committed and dedicated and always invest my mind, my heart, and my spirit in anything I aspire to achieve. I would like to start modeling work locally but when I graduate I would like to do Fashion as an editorial/runway/commercial work on an international level. represented by an established agency either in London, NewYork, Paris, or Milan. So far its been a very interesting process.
