American Male model Scott Barnhill from Chicago, USA
Campaigns: Versace, Yves St.-Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Kenneth Cole, Gap, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Guess, Valentino, Sean John and Gucci.
Scott Barnhill was born and raised in Chicago and just knew he wanted to travel and see the world. As a teenager, he hauled pipes and dug ditches for a construction company, and then worked overtime in a clothing store to get the money together to get out and explore. He was just a wild a wild skateboarder, living in Florida and working on a construction site when his life made a radical change.
His hard work and carrying bricks took him all the way to South Beach, Miami, where he was ready to conquer the universe. Miami seems to be the place where prominent male models got to be discovered. Scott Barnhill certainly is one of them. While attending a party during his 18th birthday, he was spotted by a modeling scout. Convincing himself that he had had enough of construction work and working for a clothing store, got some test shots taken and enter the world of modeling.
So with a chin covered with stubble, he did a bit of modeling in Miami and found himself being madly courted by the fashion industry there. His first job as a model was doing a Swiss catalog called "Beat." He was a natural in front of the camera and went on the fast track headed straight to a prominent international modeling career. Scott had certainly found himself in exactly the right place at the right time. In 1996 he started out on the runways, and at the age of 19, Scott's next modeling assignment was on the set of the Spring '97 advertising campaign for GUESS?. He gave just the right amount of edginess (complete with tattoos and a tongue-ring) to the ever-so beautiful surroundings of Palm Springs and Laguna Beach, California. The campaign was all about youthfulness and energy. Scott's enthusiasm and spirit made working with him an absolute pleasure.
Scott has been doing runway and print work for most major design houses around the world, but it was GUESS? that gave this supermodel his start. He has been featured skateboarding in popular commercials on television and also in a variety of spreads and editorials in prominent magazines such as Vogue. He became one of the hottest men on the international model scene, having appeared in campaigns for every major designer in American and Europe - including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace and Trussardi.
During the Milan Fashion Week of 1998, he had been fully pre-booked for the major shows of the men's fashion world; the Milan autumn/winter 98/99 collections. He was staying at one of the city's best hotels and had a driver at his disposal to drive him to his jobs. All that phenomenon well explains the reason that he won 1998 VH1 male model of the year award.
However, his modeling career slowed down lately, mainly due to the ugly lawsuit filed agaist his former management, Next models. His romantic relationship with supermodel Gisele Bundchen also ended in bad terms. New Scott is signed to IMG models, the hottest modeling agency, and that will definitely help him take his career off again.
At 6'2", this brown hair, brown eyed surfer/ skater enjoys reading books on self-realization, traveling and skate boarding and hopes to one day be sponsored by a major sporting label. In high school, he excelled at several different sports including ice hockey, baseball and wrestling.
One day, he hopes to return to college and become a marine biologist or perhaps try his hand at acting. But until then, he's planning on riding his wave of modeling all the way.
