Firmansyah, in the business simply known as “Fey”, has in less than three years in Jakarta gained status as one of the best in his field.
Born in Padang, West Sumatra, Fey got an early career start in the art of styling and make up. Already in high school in 1989 he started using his unique talent professionally and constantly improved his skills through the university years as an economics student. In Padang Fey soon opened his first beauty salon and lead a busy and succesful business untill he finally made the inevitable decision in 2002 to move to Jakarta. The professional challenges were no longer big enough in his beloved home town…
In Jakarta things happened fast and in less than 2 weeks Fey was in business. At first as stylist at reputable companies such as the international cosmetic brands MAKE UP FOR EVER, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent and later at the big Indonesian brand Mustika Ratu as leader of the artistic team servicing the major Jakarta TV stations.
“In this period I really learned a lot and broadened my creative scope enormously” says Fey. During his work he gained valuable experience in advanced styling and make up techniques for TV camera, photography, lighting effects, and not least the art of concept-make up in which the make up becomes a major factor in expressing the character of the show.
Since starting his own business Fey has built an impressive port folio for a diverse range of clients in advertising, TV, fashion, magazines, music videos, weddings and not least many of the famous performers in this country. And the list is expanding…
But even after more than 16 years in the glamorous world of professional beauty, Fey is hungry for more challenges.
